How to get rid of grain filler....?

Just got a body I custom ordered with a burl maple top, making sure to pick one with holes.

Trouble is Warmoth did fill the holes with grain filler :sad1: ???

Not only does that deafeat the purpose of getting a burl top for this build, but I' concerned that dark brown/orange filler won't play nicely with dyes either.

I'm checking with Warmoth if they have any idea how to get rid of that stuff but in the meantime thought I'd check here as well.
My initial thought was maybe to use water + one of those electric toothbrushes... here's what we're dealing with:

Update: X-acto works pretty well. It's. bit slow though  :laughing7: , but I only have to empty the bigger gaps.

I was going to suggest that way, but was hoping someone had an easier method. Unfortunately I don't think there is a better way. Hope ypu have good luck with it.
Just out of curiosity, what's the intention for the holes?

I always wanted to try filling a lichtenberg burn with glitter and epoxy with EL wire at the bottom of the slots.  But that stuff scares me, and my project finishing rate is horrible.

Looks cool!
