How long does it take to receive parts?

How long has it typically taken people to get an unfinished body and an unfinished neck with fretting done?

I've looked at the website and seen where it says about 5-6 days, and I can add 3 days for shipping with where I live. So, 9 business days or so. Has this been the norm for everyone else?

In my experience Warmoth has been pretty good with their estimates on time, and have sometimes beat their estimates.  It kinda depends on their current work load.  I don't think I've ordered anything that took longer than their time estimate, but again, it depends on the work load.

My last neck order, unfinished and frets installed, shipped a week after it was ordered.  This was back in February, which I would guess is not their busy season. Shipping time, of course, depends on where you happen to be located. In any event, the anticipation is what makes it seem like forever!  :icon_jokercolor:

Yep, showcase parts with some work required - but not finish - shipping in about a week matches my experiences so far.

Just FYI, February through about May is our busiest time of year, by far.

Now that is surprising. I would think most people still tapped out from Christmas. Then again, the last custom made, unfinished neck I ordered shipped in just under 3 weeks, and that was ordered in July. In any case, I'm thinking the lead time is pretty reasonable.

Not quite an answer to your question, but I ordered a showcase body and some hardware, bridge, scratchplate etc, (no work like fretting to be done) on Mon 20th February and received it Tuesday 28th February.

I'm in Sydney, Australia !

Reason I ask is because I ordered a showcase body and neck on the 3rd of July. I haven't heard anything since after my initial billing statement. I know the 4th is a holiday and messes shipping times up.

They say patience is a virtue, but the people who say that are not usually the ones waiting.

That does seem like a while, but maybe they're unusually busy. What, if any, work needs doing - pickup routing, nut fit, fretting etc?

I assume you've tried logging in to your account to check for any problems.

Just needed fretting and pickup routing.

When I log into my account it states, "you have not placed any orders"; however, I have an e-mail with an order confirmation number. My credit card statement shows a payment processed on 4 July 2017.

Hmm. I'd give sales a call.

Well,

I gave them a call and gave them my order number. They said they would pull my order sheet and call me back in about half an hour. This was several hours ago.

Day 16. My bridge arrived, a Hipshot A. I ordered lightweight Hipshot tuners for it as well. Still trying to figure out what pickups/preamp I want to use.

I got an email reply. Apparently my body suffered a catostraphic failure and didn't pass QC, so now they want to know what I want to do.

Well that sucks, sorry to hear it. Presumably a bad tear out when they were routing?

Anything in the showcase that could replace it? With the current 'screamin' deal' sale going on you might find a good alternative and get some money back.

They found me a similar body and are gonna send it instead. It's still under 4 pounds, though it's a few ounces heavier.

Day 22. I have my tuners, pickups, and bridge ready to go. Still haven't bought a pre-amp. Body and neck still haven't arrived. I really hope it's worth the wait.

Really not fun, man.  One way to look at it: they messed it up, caught it during QC, and rather than ship you an inferior body they are making it right.  I'd rather wait a bit than have to return it.

I got my shipping notification today. Should be here on Monday. UPS says my package shipping weight is 6.40 pounds. Not bad for a 5 string bass body and neck.

Out for delivery. 5 weeks to the day. Not too bad considering the issues I guess. Pics later when I get home.

I would say that that was fast considering the issues.
My latest order - without any issues - took a little more than four weeks to ship. And I believe my other orders took about the same, ie about four, five weeks.
Now it's not going directly to Sweden, but instead to Cagey, which will take another couple of days and then he's going to work his magic on it. I don't know how long that's going to take, but when it's ready, it'll ship to Sweden. So eventually I'm getting my body and neck.
In the meantime I'll be reading posts and watching Youtube clips about all thing guitar related.  :icon_thumright:
