How long did your custom neck/body take

When I ordered my first build 2 years ago they told me 6 weeks for the neck, it was a complete order from scratch. I ordered around early-mid November and had a mid to late January delivery schedule. The entire project ended up on my doorstep within 3 weeks. No mails telling me things were done early or anything like that. It just showed up here. I was an extremely happy camper....and had a great Christmas.

It's a funny thing, there seems to be a fair bit of inconsistency in delivery. Obviously, the particulars of your order contribute hugely to that so I guess it's safe to assume to a fair extent non-gibson necks=quicker than Gibson. I dunno about the bodies yet, finding out shortly! Huzzah!

Cletus, I think you nailed it about the order particulars, this subject comes up all the time and I have started to pay attention to a few things, What I notice is that non lam bodies get it the quickest, then come out Lams and hollow or chambered, after that it is all about the finish and how hard that is to do, Seems Blue stains are the worse.
Now necks I have not paid much attention to and really cannot know If I ever will have much to say as I think most shapes I would want they have a lot of in stock in some very tasty wood selections, I got my last Goncola Alves neck to my door in 10 days and they had to fret it.

The other thing too, they probably don't have people on call waiting by the phone to come in and work when they get busy.  They probably have the same amount of production people regardless of how busy they are.  You may know when you ordered it, but you don't know how many orders they're working on.  I imagine their delivery window gives them a little fudge factor time cushion if some orders have to be started over due to the predictably unpredictable nature of woodworking and finishes.  That's why some go out upsurdly fast.  I thought they were doing us a favor by sending them out earlier than promised but apparently it's just ammo for the impatient.  "So and so got his sooner!  Why's mine taking the promised amount of time?"  (or longer for FB)

Beside all of that, do you want the neck and body that rushed through production to get to you a week early?  You will have this for it's or your lifetime, or until you grow tired of it.  What's a few extra days or weeks?

The Quantum View email is the worst kind of torture because sometimes it arrives one destination point away and sits there over the weekend taunting you in real time.

When I ordered my first one the body was from the showcase. It was top routed for SSS and I requested that route it again for HSH. The reason being is I like have the little bit of extra room under there for wires and in the event that I decide I want to go with a full size humbucker it won't be a problem. I doubt the routing took much time.

The neck was ordered from scratch. I ordered a AAA birdseye with wolfgang back and wolfgang radius. The radius isn't something they have "in stock" so it had to be made. Also had the stainless frets and carbon nut ordered. They got it to me about 3-4 weeks sooner than expected. I just chalked it up to them probably not being as busy at the time. If you look back, I ordered that right when gas prices were going through the roof and the economy seemed to be sliding into oblivion. I imagine they weren't very busy because of that and were able to get to mine sooner than expected.

I've never had a super late order from Warmoth, but it might be nice to have a failsafe in there for situations where things get really behind (if only so the customer knows they weren't forgotten). A good customer is never an inconvenience.

I'm familiar with the Wolfgang contour.  What is the Wolfgang radius?  Is it a special order off the menu item?  A secret handshake and a wink, "I'll have the Wolfgang radius please."  with extra ketchup
