How heavy is your gecko ?

I'm really concern about weight and very interested in building a Gecko 5 string narrow.

So pls tell me how heavy your gecko(s) 5 is, along with the woods species.

Thx

My heaviest Gecko weighs at least 12 pounds.  It has a solid Purpleheart body, and a neck made of Wenge.

My lightest Gecko is closer to 8 pounds.  It has an Alder body, and a neck made of Canary.

The rest of them fall somewhere in that range.

I haven't really weighed mine, but it's got a comparable heft to a 10 pounder I used to work with.

I have two Gecko 6s.  Both are swamp ash with maple/maple necks.  One is just over 9lbs and the other is about 10lbs.  The 9lb bass has a 3lb 6oz body and I went with ultra light tuners on the neck to save weight.  That's probably about as light as you can get with a Gecko 6.

Thanx all for the replies,

@Tubby.twins: You made me go back to your finished gecko thread, and gain many informations..thx

@Wyliee : a gecko 5 neck with only one trussrod would be much lighter than  6, right ?

There's no steel rod in gecko's neck, am i rite ?

I'm pretty sure that the Gecko necks conform with the Warmoth Super Bass Construction method; so yes, there will be steel in the neck:

Two truss rods are used to provide optimum action on each string.
I wonder how much one of those necks weight?
