how complete is Warmoth's fretwork?

I'm curious as to what style fretwire (Dunlop 6150 for ex) people are using where they
feel the need to bevel/smooth the fret edges...?  :icon_scratch:

It's not so much the make, as much as it is the method.  When you cut the ends of the frets and bevel them, there will be a sharp edge to them, and that small burr is all the end dressing is addressing for the most part, just rounding/smoothing it out.  Same reason you scrape binding & take the harsh edge off of the top/sides.

I gotta dissent strongly to the preponderance of the opinions that the Warmy necks are good to go out the box. I've never and I mean never expereinced this. They ALL need a set up, fret level, and then a good crown polish from the git-go.

Thee reason some of you think otherwise is in my estimation, you don't need the lowest of the low action like I do. If you tried this with an out the box Warmoth, or for that matter  about any aftermarket neck..fuggetedaboudit!

Almost any neck can play good out of the box- god forbid even a new Mighty Mite with the action set as high as you guys obviously have a preference for.

I guess the work is about as good or better than a standard tele or strat, better than your basic Gibson fretwork on an axe from guitar center.

I belive all Gibson necks are Plexed at the factory these day..

One the one fretted Warmoth neck I've got, I've not noticed the frets at all, thinking about it.  That's a good thing.  :icon_thumright:

I've just noticed I've responded to a 6 year old post.

All necks I received needed a lot of fretwork, I would not say that the fretwork is properly done in house. Consider an additional 50-80 USD for proper final setting...
