Man is it Bloody HOT down here  where having a heat wave, that's for sure.
Records broken left right and centre.
They are adding 2 new colours / temperature ranges, to our Australian weather maps for 50-54 and 54- over. (That's Celsius i'm talking about)
Today was the hottest day I've every been in, in my 52 years (well where I live I mean)
Sweated in places, you don't really wanna know about.  :toothy11:
Had a day with similar temps last week too.
Since last August, I've hardly seen any rain.
When it does, I'm like a little kid that hasn't seen it before  :laughing7:

:icon_scratch:  Really think I need to get a new Thermometer, that goes a little higher ....

Taken in my backyard in the shade, just North of Sydney (about 20klm)

...... Pass me another Drink please  :icon_biggrin:

It's so hot in Australia right now. I went to the  park at lunch and saw a squirrel holding it's nuts with an oven mitt.

MULLY

dude, I'm bummin' for ya. I know you guys get unreal droughts down there. I hope you don't get any out of control fires.

I've seen reports on the news and the internet here in the USA about adding the new colors to your weather maps, but seeing the photos of your thermometer make it real in a way that I can relate to.  Hang in there!

My partner doesn't believe in air conditioning, so I can understand how uncomfortable it can get.  Stay hydrated and good luck.

Meanwhile, Southern Californians are freezing to death right now. At 37 degrees F, the other day, I had to take out my space heater. :help: :help:

I actually really like extremely hot weather, just as long as I can go some place air-conditioned if I get tired of it. That's about 15-20 degrees F too hot, though. That has to be miserable.

-8 Celsius here right now (-15 with windchill) and I wouldn't trade you.

Being Canadian, I suppose I fit the stereotype, because I much prefer the cold.  anything past 20 Celsius, and I'm whining for cooler weather.  :icon_biggrin:

Man I feel for you.

I HATE extreme heat! I was in Dubai last year on a business trip for a week in July of all months! I swear the temperature at one point reached 49 Celsius and I though I was going to die walking 3 mins to the taxi queue.

The unfortunate thing in Oz as well at the moment is the wild-fires this has caused. It's all over the news here in the UK.

Ironically in the UK, we now have issues with snowfall (schools closed, people stuck in gridlocked highways etc..) and as I write this, out my window is nothing short of a blizzard.

Last tutorial cancelled  :headbang1:
But trains might be cancelled i bet tonight so unlikely can get home for panto and then food at cousins house.... mainly miss the food it is AMAZING

Man, I feel your pain Updown.  Literally, I do feel it; just at the opposite time of year.
I live in Phoenix, AZ.  So, I get the same thing you are going through every year, but opposite of your seasons.
The first year I moved here, it reached 127 degrees one day and I was certain that I had moved to hell :evil4:
It was so hot they had to shut down the airport because planes could not get enough lift to take off.
I am from the Midwest where it gets brutally cold in the winter.  Everyone stays indoors all winter to stay warm.
It's about the same thing here, except everyone stays indoors all summer to stay cool.
I can take the heat much better than the cold so I can live with it.
Be cool :laughing3: &  :rock-on:

Here's a pic from this afternoon just in my driveway.

For those you think we dont get much snow in the South of England....it's ben getting more nearly every year here in UK. I'm not decided about Global Warming yet, but we have certainly started to see some extremes on both ends of the scale.

We're around -10 Celsius here in Denmark. And although I like warmer temperatures better - anything around 50 Celsius is too much for anything than slow cooking.

EDIT: Deleted wrong statement.

Fahrenheit and Celsius meet at -40. -10 celsius would be 14 Fahrenheit.
MULLY
just sayin'

You can say that again my brotha :icon_thumright:
When I lived in Kansas, I used to get up an hour early in the morning just to shovel my driveway.
Then while I was at work, the snow plow would come by and cover it all back up again.
Cold weather sucks...

(Probably the same for you if you where here)

My temp gauges don't even go that low  :laughing7:

I agree Doug.  :icon_thumright:  +1000

Suppose it all comes down to what you are acclimatised too.
Below 15C is cold to me. Totally hate it
Handle with no problem up to 40c.
Over 40c is just a pain in the butt.
But when it's reaching for 48c with hot dry westerly winds, is like being in a furnace.
Could have had a BBQ on the car bonnet.

I work outdoors, so start real early to beat the heat, finish by lunch time. (or whenever I want)
Since I'm my own boss, I have a rule that when it gets to 38c / 100F ..... it's time for tools down.  :laughing7:
Had many of them recently.

Of cause I have aircon's in the house, most do. Got a pool either side of the house too.

Relief day today  :toothy10:  back down in temp by half .... 25c

Plenty of fires around the country (none near me) but that's expected as we had wet summers for the last 3 years.

Great to see the extreme temps you guys get as well.

Cold weather just sucks. (for me anyway)
I'd rather push a lawnmower than a snowplough.
I'd rather surf than ski.
I like my beer cold .... not, frozen solid.
I like T-shirts and jeans / shorts, Not layers & layers upon layers of clothing  :laughing7:
I can play guitar better in the heat than the cold too.  :guitarplayer2:

It is 6:30 in the evening here in Japan, the sun is down and the current temp is 8 celsius. Tomorrow is calling for a low of 1 and a high of 7.
MULLY
that would be low of 31F and a high of 44F
