So I have a polyurethane jazz bass in olympic white which is ok but doesn't make it feel like its "my" bass. So I'm planning on sanding it down (not completely to the wood but enough to remove lacquer and some of the paint) with 220 grit and then priming it with white.
Then paint with light coats (sanding when neccessary) and then sanding before lacquer. Then lacquer (sand between coats if neccessary) and then curing and polishing.
The thing is I want a matching headstock which is covered in lacquer. The question is can I just sand it back and do the same as before.
-----I have not included many details e.g. grit for sanding, as I couldn't be arsed------
