High Output Humbuckers: PREFERRED WOOD?

I have some hot humbuckers from Seymour Duncan and already have a maple neck (no additional fretboard) here ready for assembly when I select my strat guitar body.  Leaning towards maple body with maybe spruce top, or alder alder combonation - this will be a solid or metal paint job.

I'd appreciate any recommendations anyone has for the type of wood best complimenting hot pups and a maple neck (solid maple one piece neck).  Thanks again!

And the difference is not predictable at all in my experience.

Alder or basswood as it's got a solid colour.

I'd be more bothered about the weight which if you went for maple it probably would be quite heavy.

I agree with the others. With electric guitars, body wood species is farther down the list of things that will affect your tone. Too much inertia, even on a lighter weight part.

Another vote here for the wood species isn't gonna matter.
