Hi there,

today I discovered that the predrilled holes for string ferrules of my roasted swamp ash Warmoth Stratocaster replacement body are too wide (diameter 8.03 mm) for original Fender string ferrules (diameter 7.95 mm). By the other unroasted swam ash Warmoth Stratocaster body I got, the predrilled holes are fine (7.3 mm wide).

Does the roasting process widens predrilled holes? How to install string ferrules on the roasted body?

Best regards,
Bernd

In another forum, a user recommends to just glue the string ferrules with wood glue (superglue could damage the wood by time). So I glued the string ferrules with the quick-drying wood glue "Pattex Express" and will report whether the sleeves hold in the long term.
