Help me find a large bud box?

Hi there,

I bought my GF a Roland JC-40 amp but the (not included) foot switch is $65.xx or more.

I just tested the amp with a 1/4" mono momentary on/off piano sustain pedal and it works, so I want to build
a box to hold 3 stomp switches but need a somewhat larger bud box.
Have looked around a lot but no luck on an empty box the right size.

Something this size would work. (see attached image)
or something less tall and wider would even be better.
All it needs to do is hold 3 stomp switches.

I'd also need a strain relief for the one cable I'll run out.
Canare Star Quad size slightly less that 1/4".
Haven't looked around for that yet, but if you know where that would be great.

On the strain relief, a smaller one like this (attached) would be great, because I'm familiar with the way they work,
but these are too large for the side of the box. They are the ones that fit in an electrical box.
Can't find a smaller one.

Any and all ideas welcome.

Thank you!

Searching around, it appears that $65 for the proper switchbox is something of a bargain. Everything else I found that would work cost more, sometimes substantially so. I think what I'd do is gang up 3 Boss switches...

They come in latched (FS5L) or unlatched (FS5U), and the way the housing is constructed you can gang them together to get as many switches wide as you need. They also have little status LEDs to let you know if the switch is engaged or not. Shop around - they're usually between $20-$30 apiece.

Yea ... but we'd need 3 of those
and that's no bargain compared to 3 switches a bud box or even a wooden box, a piece of cable and 3 1/4" jacks.
We don need no steenkin' LED lights. We can hear it if it's on.

I'm not sure building your own is going to be much of a bargain, either. But, to find that sort of box, Google "Metal Project Boxes" and it'll return quite a few different designs/sizes. For example, these guys have quite a selection.

Problem solved!

Got 3 of these for a total of $28.07.

Sorry I'm late to the party but the Digitech FS3X is a three button momentary switch that's relatively inexpensive. You can find them and their previous versions used all over the place.
