Even Les Paul didn't like the SG
well they wanted to put his name on it, when they stopped production of the Les Paul and replaced it with the SG he withdrew his Name from Gibson so they had to call it the SG. Basically he thought it was a cheap thing designed to compete with Fender, which it was. I think he needed to remove his name from Gibson again when they started watering down the Les Paul and turning out 50 gadzillion cheap models of a good guitar. It has gotten that every kid on the block owns what used to be a cheap Les Paul copy, but now they say Gibson on them and are of the quality of that imported copy made by pigmy's in lower Zambailodiagyland.
So now, instead of a 7 year stop in the production of the Les Paul we are stuck with Gibson ripping them selves off so bad they are losing the respect of their core clientele
sorry for the hijack..
