Chinese, yes, but looks like it has some potential.  Anyone consider this?  They have assembled/finished ones, as well ~$300 US.

Interesting that the bridge is a top-mount.  I think most or all of the headless guitars I've seen usually have the tuners basically hanging out past the bottom of the body, or into a huge cutout routed into the body.  I wonder if that'll need a shim?  The kit doesn't seem to come with one.

I've seen those here & there.
The boxy shaped Steinberger has caught my eye.  Just basically to use as a template for another idea I have.  I know a luthier in Concord, Ca who built my TFS6 who also built a new faceplate for the old square Steinberger 4 string base in the shape of a Hohner Beattle Bass.  It was really cool seeing a carved top headless Beattle Bass with binding, F-holes, and EMG pickups on it.
I thought of getting one of these to do a knock off of that, & use these parts as reference points to doing the Steinberger bridge cut.

i'm not a big fan of the Cort lawsuit avoidance body shapes, but the M-series clone is interesting.

Talking about Ripoffs of other designs;

Since everyones else is doing it...

I am reminded of the motto of the great designer Raymond Loewy - "Most advanced, yet acceptable". There is a finite number of guitar designs that people will spend money on. Some are great, some not. But since they have to fit the human body, they can't be too weird. I like nearly all of them. Even the Explorer was hated in 1958. Now it's normal. This headless is not so weird to me.
