Having questions about First Build

Hello there,

I hope this is the right section to post.
I am thinking about building a Strat for 80s Hard Rock/Heavy Metal (Bon Jovi, Van Halen, stuff like that...) and have a few questions. I hope this post doesnt get to long.

So far my build looks like this: https://imgur.com/a/Mihrv

As far as my questions go:
1) http://www.warmoth.com/Gallery/GalleryItem.aspx?id=6128 | These two posts show black/yellow bursts to
http://www.warmoth.com/Gallery/GalleryItem.aspx?id=5806 | be quite brown, while my build seems to be
somewhat lighter. I assume that the representation is making it look brighter than the guitar actually is?

2) The pickups were only available in black in the configurator, although Seymour Duncan also offers them in
white. I would like them in white. Are white ones available through Warmoth?

3) The Jazz Neck pickup available is the SH-2b bridge version that seems to be somewhat hotter than the neck
one. Is there an option to get the 7.5k neck version?

4) I have heard mixed things about the semi-recessed Wilkinson Trem. While I dont necessarily want a Floyd
Rose, I would like to be able to get a Tremolo that can somewhat reach the EVH/Mick Mars Type action. How
much improvement does the semi-recessed offer over non-recessed ones?

5) With my current build, is there anything I would have to buy seperately (for example the pots)?

6) How does the pricing work?
I have 2 parts, neck and body, which cost a total of around 1250$
Because I have 2 parts, I would presumably have to pay shipping twice, which would add around 150$
19% VAT would add another 250$, 5% Import duty would add another 50$
The total cost would therefore be approximately 1700$, which converted to Euro would be around 1400€
    Is that calculation correct?

7) How dark exactly is the roasted maple neck? Google shows quite a few different colours:
https://imgur.com/a/cz65m Ideally I would want a lighter colour like the 3rd image or this video:

Thats all I have at the moment. Thanks for your answers.

6. I've ordered bodies and necks from Warmoth a couple of times and always only had to pay one shipping fee for a body and a neck, not two.

7. This dark:

In other words - it depends on lighting and they differ from neck to neck. They're darker though than ordinary maple, but feels so much better.

1. Is a representation. The other photos will depend on the lighting and how they were photographed and your monitor.

Try the showcase to see if there are any examples in there as they are professionally photographed.

2. Options for pickups from Warmoth

http://www.warmoth.com/Humbuckers-C797.aspx

Click on the type of pickup you want, there may be options for color or wiring for example on the individual product page.

1) There are lots of black/brown/yellow burst Strats in the showcase here. They will change the pickup and trem routing for no extra charge. Any particular reason you're choosing a custom build? In stock will be cheaper and you can see the actual body you'll get - and it will be quicker. More or less the same goes for the neck if you're choosing popular options.

2) & 3) It doesn't look like it, so you may have to source them elsewhere.

4) The semi-recessed option just means you have more scope to pull up.

5) The builder will let you select stuff like pots but not every last detail - I don't think wire/caps/scratchplate screws are listed. Check through the items that are listed before checking out - Warmoth will not supply anything that is not specified so don't assume scratchplates include screws etc.

6) If you go to checkout and enter your country, it will give the shipping total. When working out import costs, remember that you will pay VAT on the delivery charge as well as the goods. Also, expect UPS or whoever to charge about 10 Euros 'admin' on top of the rest.

7) What Logrinn said.
