Hey, guys. Newbie here. I'm one of those weirdos who has a weird fetish for guitars with crackle finishes. I have a Jackson Soloist and BC Rich ST-III in said finish, and always want more. I'm finally beginning my journey to become a home luthier. One of my questions is: how do you create a crackle finish? I know there are supposedly kits available at places like Lowes, but is that an acceptable paint? I'm looking to be able to re-create something like this:
I know that Dan Lawrence did most of these for BCR and Jackson back in the 80s. But would like to be able to do this on my own some day. Thanks!
