Hardtails

Ya know, when there are trem bodys available in the showcase they are usually left unrouted leaving the option open for std, floyd, wilkinson, etc....

Why don't you continue that practice with hardtails?  Just an Idea.

So, what are asking? That they leave the string spacing un-drilled until someone buys the body and knows what bridge they're going to use?

Perhaps Warmoth doesn't do this because, (now this is only a guess), there are so many different hardtail bridges out there that all use different mounting screw holes and slightly different string spacing that things could quickly get confusing when people buy a body and then ask for a specific spacing and screw mounting pattern. It seems to make more sense from a manufacturing standpoint to drill for the hardware you see and avoid the hassles and arguments generated from people improperly measuring their bridge holes and then wanting to return the body now with some unusual hole spacing because they didn't measure it right in the first place. Besides, the different string spacings are so close to being the same that you can simply drill out the holes wider from the top and only drill down 1/2" or so. Problem solved.

Any through hole bridge route has to be routed from the back side of the body.  Once the bridge pickup is routed, you lose the index hole for the CNC machine.

Couldn't you just leave the index hole there and not route any pickups or bridge?

We've barked up this tree before... W says routed bodies sell faster.  :sad1:

The Showcase is just that...The Showcase, you get what you see. You just have to keep watching until something fits within the realm of your build, be it wood choice, pup routing or bridge routing...I think that's the whole philosophy behind it...Just my .02... :dontknow:

thats also the reason for the "custom order" option showcase items are to minimize production times and get it out to a person as fast as possible, hence having the routing pre-done, custom orders are for those who can wait and are more selective chyea.

Ok, so this is sort of a self serving thread.  But right now there are a couple of bodys in the showcase that are along the lines of what I'm looking for except the bridge route isn't what I'm wanting.  I'm sorta on a budget and I don't want to pay a whole lot extra for a top, and it dosen't have to be a really fancy piece, but I know "kinda" what I'm looking for.  (It's more like there are some things I don't want but a lot of things I'd be happy with if you know what I mean)

I'll probably have to break down and order the body, and that's ok, but options are why we are all here right?

I agree with thumb here bigtime and heres why. I've got 12 solid body guitars, four of them are Warmoth, (my last 4) I don't have a 12 string or a hard tail guitar, I want to build a 12,  You know how many bodies there are in the showcase setup for 12 string bridges? NONE, And i'm told the 12 string bridge won't work on a bodywith  standard 6 string hardtail holes

A) I can't believe no one makes a 12 string bridge that will work in place of a standard 6 string bridge

B) I bet i could make it work by redrilling new holes at an angle through existing holes in the back to match the string through portion of a gotoh 12 string bridge

For the mostpart, the bodies and necks on the showcase are priced in accordance to the posted prices for bodies/necks, options, and finishes in their respective pages of the website.  There are occassions where some prices have been reduced due to having been on the showcase for an extended period of time, and the price has then been reduced to sell, hence the closeouts posted on the home page.

yeah thats kinda annoying for you man, i got lucky they had my color and body w/ unrouted trem when i went to buy, so i got exactly what i wanted from the showcase  :toothy11:  hope you get what you want soon
