Half Bridge

Hey everyone, looking for a good quality half bridge for a tele build, with 2 HB's. I think I'll be going with no pickguard (want to show off the body finish as much as I can) and want just a half bridge (is that the correct term?). Also 6 saddle. Any suggestions?

I haven't ever heard that term before, but I used a Schaller 475 for my double humbucker telecaster and I've been pretty happy with it.

Is the body is already drilled for a vintage Tele (4 screw mount) bridge? If so, half - or chopped, or short - bridges appear almost exclusively 3 saddle.

The only company I've found offering a 6 saddle option are Armadillo.

They do stuff like this:

Not cheap at $105, though they do also offer a bridge plate without saddles for $30.

The 3 (compensated) saddle bridges do work quite well.

Then there's always these from Gotoh and others:

I think I gave one of those to Tonar back in the day.  Check with him to see if he still has it.

Did you buy the body yet? If not, your options are almost unlimited as Warmoth can route/drill for many different bridges. You're not limited to "Tele" type bridges at all.

The GOOGLE is your friend....
Just enterTELECASTER HALF BRIDGE
and press enter.

You will be presented with at least a dozen varieties.

Not ordered the body yet, but everything I find online is three saddle. I suppose in the end, if need be, I'll go with that. It's not the end of the world. I figured I'd find the bridge I want first to be sure to have Warmoth drill the mounting holes accordingly.

That's my best option so far. Glad to hear you haven't had any issues with it.

Thanks, I'm not familiar with those.

I like the bridge used on this build, but likely in black. I think Hipshot is the answer ;)

Hipshot page describe it as an Ibenez guitar bridge, but I like the design look ;)

Pirate, I just remembered a Warmoth parts guitar I made to emulate the tone of a LP.  I used a Strat hardtail bridge, and two pickup rings on the HB's (57 Classic and Classic +).
And FWIW, it sounded very nice, but like a exaggerated version of LP tone... think "Dicky Betts on steroids".
On _that_ particular guitar, I had to modify the tele pickguard just a tiny bit to fit the bridge HB ring, but it would work very well with no pickguard.

One thing I _DIDN'T_ like was the string spread on the actual Fender Strat hardtail bridge.  There are narrow spaced ones out there now, and I'd go for one of those if doing it all over.
