Guitar Companion App for Android

Hey Everyone,

I'm a guitarist and a software developer. I'd like to share an Android app I developed for practicing guitarists, called Mozart's Friend.

Mozart's Friend includes an interactive music library with over 1,200 scales, modes and chords for every music key signature, complete with piano view and neck view for 6, 7 or 8-string guitar and 4, 5 or 6-string bass. Notes and intervals are labeled using music theory conventions, making Mozart's Friend a great companion for the composer or music student. One-touch audio demonstrations provide interactive ear training. Tunings for each instrument are fully user-definable.

Also included is a chromatic tuner and a programmable metronome with adjustable tones and intervallic beats, allowing you to quickly outline a chord to play along with. Transpose keys easily in a single swipe.

And finally, a one-touch backup band! The new Jam Tracks feature allows you to simply choose your musical style and you're up and running. Adjust the tempo and key with the friendly controls.

Mozart's Friend does not save nor send any user information, contains no ads and is absolutely Free.

Cheers,

-James

Thanks drewski, TroubledTreble and stultzies!

line6 - I'd like to do a port to iOS sometime down the road

TroubledTreble - if you mean tunings for the scales library, you can customize your tunings any way you want under Settings. You can choose 6-String Bass View as well

Downloaded, and thanks!

If only Adam Kadman had included a companion CD, my Grimoire might not have collected so much dust throughout the years! Time to dig it out again!

seriously? :)

Yes seriously if you mean the 9 string option.  I'm seriously considering purchasing (or building) a 9 string and I'm using your app to look at 8 strong tuning options and would love to be able to compare to 9 string tuning options.  If I do go with the 9 string ( heavily leaning that way ) your app will be great for chords, scales, etc).  I've been using your app a lot - love it!  I posted about it on Justinguitar.com for you too.

I really appreciate that, thank you Steve!

There are a number of concerns involved in order to add a 9-string option (which I won't bore with here), but I will keep it in mind!

Thanks DustyCat!

P.S.: in the meantime, a partial workaround could be to use the 8-string view for either the top or bottom 8 strings, since you can set up the tuning however you want. But I'm sure you already thought of that!
