Hi guys,

thinking about painting my next guitar like the Charvel San Dimas, with flames…

Anyone has some experience how to do so? Like, which paint, stencil, brush, or else.
Wanna paint a Soloist, and, Warmoth "Due to time constraints, Warmoth does not accept Custom finishing requests"… :-)

Thx and greetings from europe,

Ernst Johann

Looks to me like you'll have to figure out some stenciling. I've only done one color with paper stencils, made out of manilla folders, (that I did myself) glued the paper stencil with hobby glue, and only did guitar cases, and used an aerosol can ... a little bleed over adds to the charm. On a body, however, there'd be no charm in that.

Probably paint the body blue, then figure out how to put on a stencil that covers up the blue portion, and doesn't permit bleed over, paint on the yellow, then paint on the orange. Peal off the mask. then clear coat. Rattle can would probably work. Stencil would have to be something that adheres like tape. The trick will be making a stencil so that there's no bleeding. Maybe you could get an enormous sheet of tape? I wouldn't know where to get it, here, let alone in europe. Maybe an automotive paint shop would know? Skateboard shop? Surf shop? One of those companies that makes stick on advertisements for cars or trucks? Vehicle Wrap Company? https://www.adkoffroad.com/advertising/lettering Amazon? Maybe Spud knows?

Looks like fun,
Post pics!
