Grounding a DPDT switching pot

You can see the ground lug at the very end of the switch. But most people solder to the side of the pot. Basically any place that you can solder to cleanly is fine.

I'm a hack. I do it like this:

Cool, thanks. Hopefully doing a build this year and I'm going to try to avoid soldering to pot casing.

Using a metal pickguard too, so no interconnecting ground jumps needed either!

I found the Solder Lug washers you was so right they are hard to find. But glad I was reading this post I never did like to solder to the back of a pot.I have burn up to many trying to get it to sick lol. Thanks.  The link you gave must be out of date I guess but I found them at AllParts about the same price I think.

It is not the most desirable method to rely on mechanical connections. Fender did it because it saved production time, but that is not to say that it works well. If a pot should come loose, your continuity will be broken. And if you give it time, the metals will corrode, diminishing the continuity. It would serve you well to take the time to do the job right.

No need to solder to the pots. Run a ground buss to all grounded tabs then connect your output jack and other ground leads to it. Simple and quiet.
