Gretsch-style Thumbnail Inlays on Necks

the 7 string necks that i've seen don't have binding

You can have your funky weird shapes, I think once in a while that dots or blocks or trapezoids would be cool in other patterns. Seems simple enough, but I believe I recall someone at Warmoth saying dots are cut on a gang drill press or something that cuts them all at once.  I think 'No Inlay' is a better option, but (from the m3guitar.com site)
