hi,
i`m gonna buy a strat body from warmoth and i`ll have it routed for a recessed tune-o-matic bridge and strings through body.
which bridge is better according to you?

gotoh or tonepros ?

and why?

thanks in advance

There is a big "made by Gotoh" in the back of the Tone Pros, when I got it, I understood why CB always said to get a Gotoh instead  :icon_biggrin:

thanks.
i mean, in terms of money gotoh are cheaper but i don`t mind to spend the extra cash if the tonepros give me some kind of advantage over gotoh.
i just haven`t tried any of them to compare

Yeah, I think it's another one of those things that "might" or "probably" affect tone, but the only tangible benefit would be that the bridge doesn't fall off when you change strings :-\

Personally, I'd go for the schaller roller TOM, if just for looks...

i had a look at the schaller tom bridge.
it looks like something i want, espeacilly because of the adjustable strings spacing.
anyway, the routing for it is slightly different from the one that warmoth offer for tom bridges.
i mean, the holes for the studs are narrower on the schaller one.

This one at StewMac uses the same post spacing, and is conveniently priced "in between" the gotoh and the Tonepros, so long as you don't need black...

**Although** on further inspection, the gotoh is 14 mm wide, and the schaller is 18 mm wide, so it may be a tight fit or may need widening of the recess rout, which may or may not be a huge deal.

Here's one that has rollers (no adjustable spread unfortunately), locking posts, vintage dimensions, AND is cheaper than the tonepros:

Which I kind of like because it kinda gives a hybrid Fender-Gibson look, sorta like a Strat with a TOM...  :laughing7:
