Greetings,

I'm near to completing the latest build, and for the bridge I'm using the Gotoh NS510TS-FE1 (wow, that's a mouthful....narrow spaced, 2pt, steel block).

Granted, I haven't even strung up the instrument yet, but pushing the bridge onto the 2pt posts and rocking the trem, the unit doesn't pitch down as much as I thought it would.  The steel block is straight up and down, vs some models having an angled block that lets the unit dive more.

Errr, ahhh, am I screwed if I want more diveability?  From what I've seen, Gotoh doesn't offer an other type of block for the narrow spaced trem.  Also, was surprised that this unit does not have the FST plate and block.  Booooo

The model you have NS510TS-FE1 the S before the - denotes it has the steel block. The steel blocks do not come with the FST.

Specs can be checked here. https://g-gotoh.com/productList/tremolo-510-series/?lang=en

I have one with the steel block but the none NS model which just means it is wider spaced. In practice I don't dive the bar on that guitar to the degree that it is a problem. If you do you could remove some of the wood towards the back of the lower part of the tremolo cavity to give more clearance.

Fu-Tone do offer a brass replacement block for the NS that you have but it is dimensionally the same as the block you have.

If you really want to dive more there is always another guitar to build  with a Floyd  :)

Thanks for the Fu Tone recommendation.  Ordered their 32mm brass block for the NS, and I'll see how it goes.  The 10mm shorter block should allow the bridge to pitch down more.  Also curious to see the tonal variation between the steel and the brass.
