It's all about being happy. He just wants to enjoy himself. If I had a bajillion dollars, wouldn't invest too much of it learning how to play things that I didn't enjoy or didn't want to do. Would you?

I am relived in a way that will become - or has become - cultural pieces of history (Jimi's guitars etc.) is in the hands of someone who appreciates what they represent. But by striving to own them and outbidding others, Allen has overheated the market a fair bit in that area and is one of the people responsible for the $250,000 + 1959 Gibson Les Paul price tag.

I sincerely hope the guitar tornado sculpture is made up of cheap guitars..... :sad:

If I had his money would I do the same thing -----tbh probably!

He's undoubtedly a very lucky man.

I think the most disappointing aspect is that those guitars just basically collect dust, as the rest of his collections appear to.

I can only imagine that when you have more money than the gods, it's very easy to become "immune" to thinking about how you spend it, and to stay grounded.  In fact, while he may have every physical thing known to man and he looks like he's living a great life, he's probably a very lonely person.  He's probably constantly questioning himself about who his true friends are, and who is actually just using him for his money.
