Before I get going too far, let me say that this is a MIK Peerless Les Paul Signature reissue of the Gibson one that was made for a few years in the 70s. Apparently this is the body style that Les asked for after being presented with the SG. True or not, it's cool. Semi-hollow, big fat neck, really well made.
What I've done to it so far: Replaced the tuning machines, did a fret leveling to eliminate sharp gouges from the guitar falling on something more than once, and replaced the pots/switches. I left the other madness intact, but I'm sorta wishing I hadn't. These pickups (more info here: http://lespaulsignature.8m.com/) are just... boring at any setting.
I'm considering putting Roadhouse P80 pickups in it, but I'll have to make custom mounting rings. The pickups are smaller than p90s but bigger than mini humbuckers. I'm unsure about the "tone circuit."
