Got married and bought a Tele!

Wow, I never thought I'd ever see a Zebrawood Fender again! My uncle has this beautiful Zebrawood strat, heavy as a $2 whore, that he put a LP type neck on. Nicest playing instrument I've ever touched. Apparently I'm in his will for it, because it has our last name where "Gibson" belongs on the headstock, and none of the other family plays guitar worth a damn.

Seriously though, DO NOT let go of that guitar. If you start to dislike playing it, CONTACT ME

JaySwear if you have a job  or it looks promising for employment and can get to So. Cal, you've got an in. Man she would kill me if she saw this.

Jalane the venue was Roche Harbor on the other side of San Juan island from Friday Harbor. It was beautiful and the weather was fantastic except for the day of the wedding forcing us inside which actually made it quaint. It's a sclepp to get there and you either have to take a ferry from Anacortes or Canada or take a sea plane. Found out about it by watching a Rachael Ray vacations show on Food Network!

Paul-less and Velcro this thing has already become genetically linked to my hands by some sort of polymerase binding sytem mediated by the liver I believe. I ain't letting this one go! I hope the strat is destined for you, sounds like it with your name already on the peghead.

I found out the guitar was one of three made for a show in Frankfurt (a Euro equivalent of NAMM I believe) in 2008 by masterbuilder Dennis Galuska. One is for sale in Frankfurt on the internet now: http://www.musicstore.de/de_DE/EUR/Fender-CS-Zebra-Wood-Tele-NOS-Natural-inkl.-Case/art-GIT0013225-000

2 of them showed up at an Abbey road event in England in 2008 and a gentleman in France picked one up and this is the other. I feel so lucky and the thing plays like a dream with a thin neck (no offense to you fat neck lovers but I love thin necks) and it is much lighter than I thought it would be and than it looks. I think the body wood is ash.

Regards,
PT

Excellent tune. One of my favorites from them. Made me buy my first Echoplex. Still couldn't do the lead, though. Turns out he was using two of them. But, an Echoplex is a Good Thing anyway, so no problem.

To paraphrase Vic.....

Guitars will get you through times with no woman, more than a woman will get you through times with no guitars!

This honestly looks like something W would do.  Zebrawood, no fretdots.

You know it's true. Also the Zebrawood fret board. It was actually something Warmoth that I was planning on doing sometime in the future but the opportunity knocked and I am a believer that there is no such thing as luck, just seized opportunity. I'm going to record a short (I promise) clip of the sound of this thing. It's amazing with a bit a British crunch on it. I got blisters on my fingahs :cool01:

Nonsense, that's nonsense - I have a saying (now that I'm older) - people are rarely thinking what I think they are thinking. My daughter would be lucky to meet someone like you. Especially now that I'm a tele addict.

Can anyone guess who's picture is on the pick I have on the 3rd fret upside down?

Tough call. It's either George Harrison or Janet Reno.

Damn Cagey you're good! Actually it's John Lennon!. I laughed out loud.

Here's a video I made tonight of the sound of the Tele using a single amp setting demonstrating the 3 pick up selections. The video is dark and grainy but I'd had a glass of chard (perhaps more) and felt the time was right. There was a question on the Fender forum whether the NOS tele's had hum canceling "out of phase" properties with the middle position. I don't think so. The hum is really loud in all three positions. it's a 1:44.

Hehe! I'm not that good. You had clues in your post, or at least I took them as such, and looking at it I figured I had a 1 in 3 chance between George, Paul, or John. I almost picked John, but George was the main guitar player, so...

The Tele has a great tone, although the S:N ratio isn't the best. Might be the location, to some degree. If it's an older place, much of the building wiring may be ungrounded, and it may also be 220v. I'm not sure if either of those things would have more influence than what you might encounter here, but it's a thought.

My daughter is 21 and single and has had her share of loser boyfriends.....

I have an older 1/2 sister who is the same way.  She is genuinely one of the nicest, caring, giving people you would ever want to meet.  I'm not just saying that because we're related.  She always been a loser magnet though.

Is she single?

No.  She should be.  I'm twice your age Max, and she's older than me.

On a side note, she's left handed and plays guitar lefty with the bass string on bottom.
Whoops, missed the older part  :laughing7:

I thought I was thrice Max's age until I found out he has somehow discovered the fountain of youth or he's using a 20 year old photo for his avatar. ???
