Good Guitar to PC interface?

Looking for a recording interface that has a few good amp models and a few effects.  Also, maybe drum & bass tracks to play along with.  Would like to stay under $100.  Line 6's GuitarPort seemed to offer just about all of this but Line 6 pulled the plug on it.  Anything else out there?

Thanks.

I think that as well but I appreciate the nudge anyway.  Are there any similar offerings in the market?

I think Line6 Pod Studio GX is the successor.

It's a bit out of your price range, but there are some incredible deals on Avid's Eleven Rack lately. If you get one used and forgo the Pro Tools software, you can find them between $300 - $400. That's a helluva lotta high-end processor for that kind of money.

Past that, you might want to consider one of the Behringer mixers with a USB interface built in, such as this unit...

Not what you'd want to drag around to gigs, but for tabletop use in the home, it's a helluva lotta toy for the money. Kills a lotta birds with one stone, too. You have a fairly capable mixer with high/low impedance inputs, stereo, low noise, EQ, all sorts of routing options, and best of all, a USB interface so you can feed your computer. You can find those for anywhere between $100 - $150, even new.

:dontknow: ... I can't believe Cagey said the B word

But they are cheap.
I've all ways stayed clear of the B variety (But hey that's just me)  :icon_biggrin:

Everybody bitches when Behringer makes a $1,000 amp in China for $60 and sells it for $85. Must be junk.  But, when Marshall, Peavey, Egnator, et al makes a $1,000 amp in China for $60 and sells it for $850, it's ok.

Their stuff certainly isn't be-all/end-all/apex gear, but it's not bad, either. For the money, it's excellent. I suspect most of the bad-mouthing originates with retailers who are used to making 50% to 100% markup on artificially expensive gear. Somebody comes along and wrecks that business model, they're understandably pissed and you gotta expect some pushback. Then the parrots pick up on the narrative and suddenly somebody has an undeserved reputation.

How about this Zoom G3 or G3x they have been upgraded to version 2.0
Theres alot of G3's out there used they can be up graded to ver/2.0 with software upgrade.

Behringer, for years now, has been quietly making a $40 Tube Screamer (TO800) with the exact right chip and the exact right diodes to sound exactly like a, ummm, Tube Screamer. "Quietly", because even though MF, GC, ZZ etc. have been forced to sell them - hey, you can just buy it somewhere else - you're going to have to wade through a pile of real $99.99 Tube Screamers, even realer $150 Maxon 808's, even realer than really real $179.99 Vintage Authentic Tube Screamers.... and then there's the clones! :laughing3: Brain death would be too good a fate for you, my Little Sweet.

No amp modeling, but for an interface, the Profire2626 is a helluva unit.  You can get them with older versions of Protools cheaper.  Has the best performing word clock of the lower end interfaces.  I am not sure it is what you were looking for, it' definitely more expensive, but a good unit to remember if you might be going towards that kind of setup.

I have an old Behringer Euromix 802, nice little mixer, but it doesn't have a USB connection. It was way before USB, but I also have a Boss BR-1600CD. So if I want to record something i can burn it to a CD and move to PC. Again outdated but they do the trick... :dontknow:

I got the JamVox a couple years ago. I've used it as both a modeler and a standalone PC USB interface. I can pull from it into either Cubase or Cakewalk with no problems. I think they've been discontinued but are still around on Amazon, et.al.

One of the great features about it is that you can drag and drop mp3s right into it, then play over the top of them.
