Good case for a 7/8 size strat?

Hello all,

I am in the process of building my first guitar.  It is a 7/8 size strat.  I'm wondering what experience people have with cases for these.  Is a standard strat case going to work?

Thanks,
Matt

You may have to settle for a gig bag. Not the end of the world, though. There are some pretty nice ones out there these days. If you'd rather a hardshell, just get a standard Strat case and add some foam in strategic places to keep the thing from swimming around during transport.

That's what I'm going to have to do with the L5S in my sig below. Cases for that essentially don't exist unless you wanna pay a bajillion dollars for a custom made unit, so I'll have to get an ES-series case and add some padding.

Check out the Gator GWE-ELEC case.  A bit on the lower quality side but lot of the Amazon reviews claim it is too short for various guitars so it may be perfect for your 7/8.  Just be sure to purchase from a place with easy returns

Hey there!

So almost 6 years later now since the initial posting.

Are there any hardcases available specifically for the warmoth 7/8 guitar by now ?

Thanks
Dan

I would recommend just going for a plush-lined rectangular guitar case. Those will fit most instruments.

I am also looking for a case for my 7/8. I am thinking of Mono Classic Arron mentioned in his youtube video (
). If anyone has any experiences, please share with me.

Nothing to add about the case to what has already been posted above.

But this is a first, I think.

I have a case for tele, but I don't have anything for offset bodies or a mooncaster l, so I am in a similar spot and think the answer would be a universal size gig bag, then of course there is the question, what's your favorite gig bag

I've had several Mono cases break on me after several years, most notably the zippers. One wasn't even that old.

I've had a Strat with a Gibson conversion neck in a Mono Vertigo and it fits OK but still kinda short. So the 7/8, whether with the 24-fret neck or 22-fret Mustang/Jaguar neck, would probably be worse.

I am hesitant to do a 7/8 Strat build with a Mustang neck for these reasons - ill-fitting cases and gig bags. But I also love necroposting. 🤘

G&G's Mustang case is $209, but shipping is at least $60. Upgrading to Priority Mail is $184.73. Not that it's needed, but either way, the shipping is significant. Probably a sick case, but more than I'd like to spend in this circumstance.

I've had weird experiences with the neck resting either loose or way too tight against the top of the case with various hard cases & guitars, although there are some cheaper ones that could be worth a try. I also prefer to have a minimum of extra open space around the body/neck, which the all-purpose ones would tend to have for the 7/8 body/Mustang neck.

There's a short scale Fender gig bag that looks OK for $60 at most retailers, though, so I might be rethinking this...:ROFLMAO:

Or get a regular strat case, and modify it. Or maybe some other shape you like. Man this is an old post ...

I totally love Reunion Blues! I have a Continental Voyager and one of the newer Expedition cases...

Well, they're not really cases, but they're not gigbags either, but they feel like they're bulletproof, they are comfy to wear and their standard electric size fits my Mustang, my 7/8 S-Style and my Tellys without a problem.
