Goncalo Alves question

Man! That neck is almost overwhelming! I normally find headstocks without decals to look a little "incomplete", but if ever there was a headstock that could pull off the "naked" look it would be that one...

I too find headstocks w/out decals to look incomplete but I'm inclined to agree with you guys and think I'm going to go with it as is. I'm planning on burnishing it, headstock as well, and will probably start a proper build thread once I've gotten going. Will keep you posted.

I'm definitely with Cagey on this one. Keep your eyes peeled on the Showcase. When I bought my rosewood on rosewood neck--and this was a huge piece of luck since they didn't offer dark rosewood as neck back material in the builder--I wanted 59 roundback or fat back profile and a straight 12" radius. Was going to do it with roasted maple in back. Then the day I was getting ready to pull the trigger, the neck I bought popped up on the showcase. It had 10-16 compound but I decided I could live with that. And it was cheaper than what I was going to build.

So if you can control yourself and be flexible you can really score.
