Has anyone tried any of the StewMac Golden Era pickups?

I'm thinking about using them in a Budget PBass project I'm working on.

They seem to get great reviews, and the price is good!

Thoughts?

Stewart MacDonald doesn't want to load for me this morning.
Guitar Fetish makes excellent pickups on the cheap.  I'm sure someone here has used the Pbass pups, I'm just not that into bass to know who.

I haven't tried them yet, but they seem to be reasonably priced and judging by many other things I've gotten from them, they're probably pretty high quality.

As for sound, you never know. The instrument, its setup and your playing style are going to have some influence on that, so it doesn't matter what anybody says - they don't have your situation. With any pickups, you have to try them out to see if they'll work for you. I've heard some super-expensive "boutique" pickups I wouldn't give you a nickel for, some super-cheap ones that would rock your socks off or color your world, and all points in between. You pays yer munny and you makes yer choice. Cross your fingers, but don't hold your breath.

Wasn't just you. They must have gone down for maintenance or something.
