Gold Fret Wire?

While daydreaming and browsing the other day I noticed the option for Gold fret wire is gone.

Any chance this is coming back in the future? Not a huge deal but I was leaning that way for my build (whenever I get around to saving enough for the neck and body…)

I suspect that Jescar who makes the fret wire is no longer able to make it as the company that made the alloy used for EVO gold no longer makes it.

Hence, when any stocks are gone, it's gone.

Yes, like Stratmania says, Jescar has stopped making the EVO gold frets because the alloy is no longer made.
Apparently, the alloy is not used for many other things, and the quantities Jescar buys is not enough to keep the production of the material going.

I probably bought one of the last gold frets when I ordered my Warmoth neck a few months ago. EVO gold 6150 is my favourite frets, and I have refretted many of my guitars with it. The frets last a lot longer without any wear, but still feel and sound like nickel frets.
I also developed a nickel allergy a few years back, so these frets are perfect for me.

I hope they will start making them again in the future, but it does not seem probable.

I had them on a Goodall acoustic I sold. Loved them.
Have them on a Brazilian Ebony Tele neck. If I could find the pups I’d build it. Never found them after I moved.
