Not a guitar project but ... I'm cooking up schemes for some mahogany. One of the outlier ideas was to do it in a transparent green, and well... making the kiddo a mini-Bonham drum set... green glitter of course comes to mind.
Has anyone ever dusted a stained or clear wood finish with glitter before clear coat? How did it come out? Got pictures?
Right now its actually up in the air between a 10" rack tom, 14" floor tom, and a 20" shallow bass drum, or something more in line with a bop kit, or making the bass drum become a floor tom when he's 9 or 10. I'm really leaning more into a traditional honey/brownish/reddish mahogany finish w Fiberksyn heads. But if I can pull off green glitter AND look good while showing off the mahogany grain.... it will be tempting. (And will probably spark a jump to the shallow 20" bass drum and two floor toms.. even if it means no rack tom for now. )
Yeah I know you can buy kids drum sets cheap. But what's the fun in that.
