Just a FYI... Gibby is now using a form of micarta - I think its called Richlite. Basically a recycled paper (yes recycled paper!) and phenolic resin. Micarta - true micarta is a westinghouse item, a layered laminate. I dont know which was first for micarta, but I've got actual Micarta from Westinghouse here for circuit boards and its a phenolic / fiberglass laminate, and tough as nails. But..... I'd not want a fingerboard made of it. I imagine refrets are going to be totally out of the question on the Richlite stuff.
