Looking to finally get started on my first Warmoth build. I've been thinking of building a wide Gecko 5 string for a few years now because the spacing it provides, but since I can't get any hands on experience with one of the necks I thought I'd ask what other owners think of it. Does it end up being overkill? Is it still comfortable? I often end up getting frustrated with 5 strings because of the poor spacing so I'm thinking this might solve my problem. Maybe a medium would be more comfortable though?
My second question is about pickup spacing. I'm looking to put in two Nordstrand big singles and wondering how much space between the neck pick up and start of the fingerboard there is. Can someone with standard soapbar/P2 pickup routing measure what that distance is? Thanks. As you can tell, I like having extra room haha.
