Here's Gecko neck #9.  This was a custom order which Wyliee helped me to realize.  Everything you see below is Canary, with the exception of the laminate stripes (Wenge) and inlays (Ebony).

I'm pleasantly surprised by how yellow this wood is, in comparison to other Canary necks that I've seen.  My other Canary Gecko neck is a bit more brownish.  I think I now understand why this wood got its name!  The color is very similar to Yellowheart but the grain pattern is definitely typical for Canary.

I tried to get some good close-up photos of the grain, as well as the "interlocking" details which seem to connect the grain lines and cause a subtle shimmering effect.  Few other woods have this quality.   In addition, it's very smooth to the touch and the fine pores make it very easy to play.

Once again, thanks to all the folks at Warmoth who continually make necks and bodies of the highest caliber, with excellent customer service and attention to detail.  I knew this neck was going to be beautiful, but my jaw still dropped when I first saw it.  Wow!

Gorgeous Gecko neck!  An all wenge and an all canary are my next 2 bass necks.  With only 5 Warmoth necks to my credit...I'm not in your league

Which body will it seats on?

I think this is going to be mounted on the all-Purpleheart body, but I'm not sure.  It matches nicely but I am still considering my options.  :)

Once again, that's a beautiful neck you've got there

And what kind of camera are you using? I'm in the market for one and this seems to take great pics.

It's an older Canon model - the Powershot "SD700 IS", I think.  The trick is to use digital macro mode with lots of good, white light and make sure the white balance is set correctly.

Canary is so awesome....It's so delightfully smooth....I love it....And that one looks absolutely exquisite with the wenge bits.... :icon_thumright:

Update: this neck is now attached to my blue Alder Gecko body.

No pictures yet, but I'll take some shortly.

A Canary fingerboard definitely makes for a "warmer" sounding wood than the previous neck, which had a Bubinga fingerboard.  There's a bit less of the treble response, but the warmth of the midrange makes up for that.
