On the plus side, you're clearly not hurting for a fine instrument. At least, that's what I tell myself when I have to pass up a fine example in the Showcase <grin> Those are some nice looking LPs.

@Hannaugh: I have right now 10 warmoths, 2 gibsons, and 3 crimsons, and counting  :laughing3: Before the end of the year, I will have ordered 4 more les pauls, with all the features I wanted from the beginning...

try to beat me :d ;)

here's the lowdown of the specs:

flamed maple on korina, purplemist burst, cocobolo neck, ebony board, no inlay, tremking-trem, stagmag/PATB2 hybrid

walnut on korina, ebony neck and board, no inlay, tremking trem, prails in bridge and neck, p90 in the middle

koa on korina, goncalo alves neck, ebony board, jb in bridge AND neck, tremking

padouk on wenge, bloodwood neck, ebony board, jb/bluesbucker hybrid in bridge, novatron in neck, tremking.

that set is going to be the backbone of the workhorses.

Y'know, I really gotta stop hanging out here. It just drives me crazy. I don't know how the folks at Warmoth can stand to sell some of this stuff. If it was me, I'd never be able to let go of it.

I used to be an environmentalistically (it's a word, I swear) minded person until I thought about a neck for my carved top wish-I-was-a-PRS tele. I saw this and thought it was perfect:

Turns out guitar companies have cleared shop in Brazil, and some project called CITES made cross border trade SMUGGLING. Pirates are cool, right?
So, 75$ for the import permit, 75$ for the export permit, no garantee that Warmoth will be able to prove it's pre-CITES wood... Warmoth flat out saying they don't. Seems insurmountable.
It is.

Settle for this:

Not the biggest fan of the pearloid binding...

Fine. My budget:

Wait...

I...

It's gotta be around here somewh...

I'll find it and let you know when I do.

Geez. That is an incredible piece. Every time I think I've seen it all in figured woods, somebody shows me something like that. Wish I could afford to give that one a good home.

Blue needs that for company..... :headbang1:
A little too "not metal" for me.  :toothy11:

:laughing7:

I think it's time you build a guitar with a coloured transparent finish.  :icon_jokercolor:
I like it, but I'm not really into the tawaaaangy pick up layout either..... :guitarplayer2:
