my new fully roasted Warmoth Strat came out great.
It's a roasted swamp ash body with a roasted maple neck.
I finished both with Tru Oil, 2 coats on the neck and at least 20 on the body.
All with a wipe on / wipe off technique.

Here's a video of the build, with a demo:

That was the perfect technique for your roasted ash body and roasted maple neck. It looks great. Awesome components too!

thanks guys

I had a look at my bottle of pumice powder and it says "extra fine", so that's probably 4A then.

Also, I've used the sealer/filler that came with the Tru Oil (when ordering the set of Tru Oil, Sealer and wax).

I just watched the video, and thanks for posting. The guitar has a good overall look to it.

It is not clear in the video, but did you ground the shielding paint in the pickup and control cavities?

Great video, build and guitar! As I have a build ordered with the same woods as you, I was interested in seeing the results of using TruOil. But the video was very helpful also when it comes to the electronics part, finishing the build.

thank you everyone :)

Yes, all shielding paint areas were grounded with a small wire. I just didn't want to make the video too long.

Looks awesome! May I ask how much tru oil you ended up using? I may do something similar and want to figure out how much tru oil to buy.

Cool video and guitar. Amazing how dark the roasted ash gets under a finish.
