I ordered my body and neck 9 weeks ago yesterday and just got it today.  I'm psyched.  It's an Alder Warmoth 5 iceman body with Quilted maple top and Bengal Burst.  It's routed for Jazz pups and I am having a V-B-T set up with Badass v bridge.  Passive Aguilars.  The neck is a 24 fret maple with rosewood fingerboard.  Gibson size fretwire, Warmoth headstock. vintage notro finish.

Super cool !!I have never thought of an iceman for a bass before but I really like that body shape for bass!!

thanks! Yea Ibanez made the bass version but only in a 4 string.  I love that Warmoth makes them in a 5 and I could customize my woods and fret count and pickup routing etc.

Well, I filed down the BA bridge, adjusted my truss rod and intonation.  Drilled the strap lock buttons down and strung it up. Plays really nice.  The only thing I wouldn't do again is order the extra 2 frets.  I wanted a full double scale but I didn't think the highest frets would be hanging off the neck like a diving board unsupported.  :dontknow:

Tell me about the balance of the instrument when standing. How much does it neck dive? I see you've used different attachment points for the strap. Do those reduce any imbalance?

The neck dive isn't too bad.  I've lengthened a strap by bringing it to a shoe cobbler and having him add from another strap to it.

Dude, how did you manage to get a giant dragonfly to shoot out the headstock of your bass?

Sweet axe.  Looks like you're enjoying the hell out of it.

Very cool. Thanks for the additional pictures.

Can you get a shot and/or description of the 24 fret extension and its unsupported float? That was another feature I'm interested in but didn't want to buy something that's fragile or not functional...

That would be my question. Seems like a helluva feature. Get the drunks off the stage RFN  :icon_biggrin:

Haha that is awesome - the dragon flyer!  Here's a shot of the fretboard.  I have learned it's not too uncommon.  I still don't like it but I slap hard and it's not fragile....
