Hey I just saw that Fretted Americana are going to build Tonemonsters amp (replica of the Tonemaster I guess) to sell. I think it sounds pretty damn good, what do you guys think?

Same here. I love his personality and he plays great music on these videos. I'm not into his band that he made with his wife, though. It's a little weird for me.

What are these Tonemonsters priced at?

Well it was said that someone screwed up and released the video too early, so we don't have all the details yet. If it's under $800 I'm probably getting one :headbang:

I'm not in dire need of a new amp but if there's a limited amount and its affordable, i must buy one  :toothy11:

Agreed - there's nothing more boring than watching some review with the dude navel-gazing whilst strumming insipid cowboy/alt-rock chords.

Gotta let it all hang out, man!  :laughing11:

I love Phil X, best reviewer I've seen. That said, I've seen a lot of the Fretted americana videos, and whilst the tonemaster does sound awesome, to me a lot of the guitars sound very similar through the amp, I would almost go as far as to say they almost sound all the same. When Phil does cleaner stuff (through their 60's AC30 mainly it seems) you can really hear the differences and I really dig some of the stuff played there.
