I picked up an vintage  Warmoth  neck. Seller did not take pictures of the first nine frets, nor did he mention any issues.; When i received it, the first nine frets are pretty severely dented. Its hard to show up in pictures, but in person the dents, especially on a couple of frets around 8-9  are pretty bad.
It does appear to be jumbo frets with a lot of meat. Also, the screwholes are of kilter and need filling and redrilling.

I do happen to know an excellent tech ( wink wink).

I have reached out to the seller, but it does not appear he is amicable to a resolution of  the 250 dollar price I paid to reduce the cost of a fret level and crown IF possible.

Ideas?

What mayfly said. Mine too.
Those are minor compared to what I'm still playing every day.
I just can't get around to parting with mine for a month to have it done, even though I have 2 others that can fill in until my everyday guitar goes and returns.

This thread should be an ad for SS and EVO frets.

Yeah, you don't get that with those unless you really put in a lotta hours on them. I understand Mayfly has managed to wear a set  out that he's threatened to send here for special attention. But, he puts out albums and plays out a lot. I imagine he might even practice once in a while.

Anyway, the divots on the frets pictured above are very repairable. I've brought much worse back to playability. Although, if it was me, I'd just hold back and save my pennies a little longer to have stainless installed. Actually, if it was me, I wouldn't have to wait because I do fretwork and I don't charge myself because I have a lotta dirt on me that I wouldn't want to get out. I know, I know, blackmailers never quit, but what's a mother to do? I have myself over a barrel :laughing7:

Those fret look pretty good to me too. I mean, the frets on my old '72 Gibson acoustic still play, and they're a lot worse than that!  :icon_tongue:
