After loads of research, I think I've narrowed down my neck pickup to the Fralin Twangmaster with Alnico pole pieces. Has anyone had experience with these pickups? Feedback is appreciated!

YES!!!

I bought one after deciding that I could no longer live without the characteristics of a great single coil in the neck slot of my humbucker equipped strat.  I installed the standard wind version and absolutely loved every bit of it.  It will not like high gain, but anything from clean on up to light OD will be amazing.

I also bought the bridge position later on, but it was too bright - punishingly.  Then again, believe I might have had 500K pots in there at the time.

Oh awesome! Thanks for the feedback! I'm excited for this pickup..

I always think about the tone I had at this one county fair (with that pickup).  I was running through a Tube Driver into the front end of a Mesa Stiletto Deuce II and the tone was really sweet!  That pickup has the single coil sparkle and dynamics with added girth.  It's not a P90 type of sound, though.  Just keep med/high gain away from the neck position and it will be amazing.

Oh that's good to read. What I want is a neck single tone over anything else. But I've always been able to do some high gain with a neck single...

I'm also gonna have a nice PAF in the bridge to blend with the Twangmaster (H-X-H). That should work well with higher gain if I want a warmer tone than just the bridge.

The neck can do higher gain, it just doesn't handle bass well, so it gets very mushy.

Oh gotcha, I know what you mean. Neck pickups can do that. Btw the humbucker in the bridge is a Van Zandt Trubucker, it's pretty sweet.
