Not my thing, but you give credit to the amount of planning it took to weave 3 different woods into such a tight pattern.

Very cool, I like it. Mostly because of the craftsmanship. I've seen some checkerboard tele's..
 
Yeah thats insane, and the corners are sharp, not rounded, so its like it had to be cut/filed/fitted that way. A lot of work I would think.

Very awesome.
 
For the checker-board tops - think cut into squares, glue up a top, then route the outline, rather than inlay.  The original photo in the thread is simply evidence for OCD + talent.

Yea, I made a chess/checker board in 8th grade wood shop; not that challenging...
That original guitar is real talent to fit all those pieces together :icon_thumright:
 
I don't know whether the builder actually did it, but this seems like a good application for CNC laser-cutter technology.

Looks like a Jaden Rose.  Definitely need to add one of those to my "guitars to own" bucket list.
