Floyd Rose Nut - Bolt or Screw?

I got a licensed floyd rose tremolo.  The thing I can't figure out is the neck.  I have seen ones that screw into the neck, but my Warmoth neck looks like it really wants a bolt and nut.  The nut I has a screw, but it just doesn't seem right for this neck. Any pointers on what I should use?

There are alot of different variations of the licensed versions of the floyd rose bridges and nuts out there.  Post some pictures of the type that you have so we can help you out.  There are two main types, as you have found out.

does it look like this photo.  that is the generic floyd shelf.  There is an option where there are two hole drilled in it too.  Also...do you know the width???

Yes (the holes were pre-drilled.)

1 5/8" width, with R2 mounting holes.

all you need to do is get the R2 in you color of choice and bolt it up.  I have had warmoth do this pres 3 times for me and only had to file the mount a little lower once for proper action

Yeah, but the nuts that Warmoth sells come with screws. And I already have a nut, I just need to know what size bolt/nut (as in the kind of nut that attaches to a bolt)  combo to use on my string nut.

i am confused.  The floyd unit is one piece..nut and locing unit in one.
So you have one of these..with nothing to screw it on?

YES!  I was confused and thought that the bolt went started at the front of the neck, and then attached to a nut on the back. Thank you very much, Blue313.

I see now...I was confusing your use of NUT...as in a guitar NUT not a nut that went on a bolt. :toothy11:

So I got the bolts from Stewmac and they don't fit.    That was in the nut that I bought off ebay, separately from the bridge (that I also bought off ebay.) 

Amazing how trying to be cheap can backfire. Now I think I'm going to try just buying the nut from Warmoth, and if that doesn't fit I'm going to question the holes they drilled.

Bought the nut from Warmoth, worked like a charm.  Now to get my body back from the guy who's painting it, and put the whole thing together.
