Floyd Rose advice from a FR newb

I decided to replace my $19 ebay floyd rose that almost but not quite exactly fit in the route with the one that Warmoth sells. And while I was doing that, I decided to upgrade the block.

The assembly went well, but when I tried to put it on my guitar my springs kept trying to fly off. And I kept trying to make it work and knocked a chip off my trem route :(  . Now, these things look symmetrical to the eye, but when I flipped the block around, the springs stayed on, easy-peasy.

I'm writing this here to save someone that headache.

On a related note, the saddles are three different heights. The tallest ones go in the middle. Oh, and the shim trick (detailed here)  really does make the floyd match the radius, and ended up being pretty straight-forward, once I'd figured out the saddle bit.

I am wondering about this to , going to be buying one of the complete upgrades.I am not sure if i just need a block or everything else,Looks like i will have the shop do it.

Well, knowing that the block has a "front" side and a "back" side, and that the saddles are different heights were the only problems I had, so now that you know that, I think you could save your money there.
