Tomorrow real pics (with real I mean "outside pool shots" ;))

I am very impressed so far, but it does need some work still:
String tree, replace some screws that are not black, and I decided it needs pickup rings..
I also need to find a way to clean up the inside of the f-hole. in person its not that obvious, but in the pics i noticed you can still see some muck..

this was really a disaster project.. I tried several different finishes on it, and at one point when it was near perfect, I screwed it up because I sanded through the finish when trying to fix a tiny runner. oh well, its still not perfect, but I am happy with it!

some quick specs:

Hollow Swamp ash body, flame maple top
Padouk neck, Ebony FB (standard thin)
Planet Wave tuners
Gotoh Wilkinson Bridge
Bridge: IronGear Steam hammer
Middle and neck: Iron Gear Jailhouse rails

Finish is true oil and wax, with some amber Shellac left under it,

The guitar looks good enough from here!

Maybe you could get one of those battery operated tiny vacuums that are used to cleanout computer cases and bewteen the keys. Attach a little hose to it for added flexibility? (that's if the 'muck' you mention is dusty sort of stuff and not dripped paint that has dried)

White balance, man, White Balance! Especially with that guitar, it kind of matches the hue of the background lighting already

Great looking guitar.  Normally not a black hardware fan, but it looks good on the transparent maple top.

thanks!!

haven't had the chance to take real pics yet, but will do that soon!!

Hannah, I really like how the padouk feels and sounds. I need to play it a bit more though :)

I filled it with a amber colored shellac (cut down with I think denatured Alcohol or Turpentine)
I also added a bunch of layers of pure shellac on top, but had to remove it, since it looked like shit.. very blotchy

You need a custom neckplate for this one!

I know... I need one for ever W I made.. the problem, is that will cost me as much as a whole new project... everytime I saved up money for neckplates, I get thrown into this vicious guitar building circle... the same happens with Amp money..
