Flame Maple Grain

Could someone kindly share some knowledge with me on flame maple tops? When I think of a cool flame maple top, in my mind the stripes go horizontally (if you look at the guitar with the body on the floor and the head stock to the sky). When I build one in the warmoth builder they go the other way which I don't care for. Is this a conversation with the Warmoth sales team to get it the way I like or or is this not going to happen because a wood scarcity issue or something else? Sorry if this is common knowledge but I'm all over the internet learning about guitar building and i don't see this being discussed.

Are you talking about the dark lines running vertically? Thats just maple grain / growth rings. The figuring is still horizontal. If you want complete control over your flame figure you should opt for a unique choice:
