This is my first build ever.  Body came from a local.  Neck and pickguard are warmoth bult items.  Just got the neck yesterday.

Maple with ebony fretboard 6150 frets, black tusq nut, thin contour, compound radius.

I'm going to nitro the neck myself.

Raw like it need a cover or something?  The G.E. Smith style tele bridge really throws people off.

The pickup itself doesn't need a cover so much as the gaping chasm it mounts in. The Tele bridge pickup mounting scheme was never meant to be exposed. Because of the oversized base plate on the pickup, you need to have this huge hole in the body to clear it for a relatively small pickup, and it just looks undone or incomplete or poorly considered, like a car without a hood over the engine. But, that's just me.

One G.E. Smiths sig models, the cavity is painted black, which meakes it less noticable, I guess.  I really like his sales pitch for this bridge which was a main reason for going with it.  Maybe I'll paint the copper shielding black and see how it looks.

Haha, and I'm starting to LIKE that look.  The Tele is such a raw beast anyway.

Thanks I like it too.  I am already thinking my next tele build will be real "raw". Almost went with no pickguard, then I got one of those trim pieces for the neck pickup, then a regular pickgauard, then this one.
