So I've finally decided to take the plunge and actually do a Warmoth build.  I'm pretty sure about the main parts, but there are a couple of minor questions I have, plus I'd like confirmation from the awesome people on this forum that all the parts will actually go together with each other and I won't just be stuck with a lot of weird shaped pieces of wood and metal.

The body: http://www.warmoth.com/showcase/sc_guitar_bodies.cfm?itemnumber=BP396
Drilled for Gotoh 201; VVTI controls; 1/2" side jack.

The neck: http://www.warmoth.com/showcase/sc_guitar_necks.cfm?type=bass&itemNumber=BN1756&menuItem=5&subMenuItem=0&subMenuItem2=0
6105 frets; White corian nut installed; Satin finish.

The rest of the hardware is gonna be a Gotoh 201, GB7's and Schaller straplocks, all in black.

Electronics wise, I was gonna go with a bartolini preamp + pickups, but here is where problems arise.  Will Warmoth rout for a battery box on a finished body?  If not, would it be possible to cut out a hole for the battery box in the rear rout cover plate, or is there some easier way of doing it?

Do the normal guitar neck plate and screws fit the warmoth bass neck socket? (http://www.warmoth.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=25199 and http://www.warmoth.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=30711)

Is the top input hole on a jazz the same size the same size as a normal control hole?  It looks like it, but I can't seem to find any measurements anywhere.

Would all the electronics fit in the cavity with the deep panel jack and the battery box?

Sorry for all the questions, and thanks in advance for any help.

==> Warmoth will route the a battery box in the body for you for a $15 upcharge: http://www.warmoth.com/bass/options/options_battery_box.cfm

===> Yes

Is the top input hole on a jazz the same size the same size as a normal control hole?  It looks like it, but I can't seem to find any measurements anywhere.

==> Size of hole for normal vol\tone part and std jack identical; but further up you stated you were ordering a 1/2" side rather than a top jack? You need to order 1/2" Switchcraft jack if you go that way

Would all the electronics fit in the cavity with the deep panel jack and the battery box?

==> Should fit; order battery box route for easy switchout.

looks like an awesome build there.

I think jack answered all your questions, I just wanted to add one thing.

be really careful about posting bodies on the forum from the showcase you plan on buying,  if you ARE planning on buying them dont wait because if you show the link and and intent to buy,, somebody lurking around might have their eye on it and snipe it from you mere hours before you pull out your credit card and dial the phone.

Its happened to me... im sure its happened to most of us.

good luck, i'tll be awesome.

Oh, sorry about the controls confusion.  I was going to go for a Bartolini preamp wired for 4 control holes, and needed to know if the normal output hole would double as a control hole (because it's listed as VVTI).  Thanks for all the help; I'm gonna make the purchase soon :D
