Finally, pulled the trigger for the neck!

At long last I've managed to get it together enough to order the neck for the Brutal Legend V project. It's got a 24.75" scale, angled paddle, 59 roundback, padouk with pao ferro fingerboard, Corian skull and bones at the 12th fret monster neck!

-sigh- Now begins the waiting...

Yeah, the waiting is a bitch. But, there'll be no finish to wait on, so that saves a few weeks.

What did you do for frets?

I went for the 6130, standard frets. They were the size I wanted and not available in stainless. I'm pretty easy on my frets, so these will likely last the remainder of my life.

I do plan on installing threaded inserts for the neck to body joint.

Next up, GFS pups and bridge, then Tonar gloss black finish for the body and then it's just a matter of putting it all together.

Threaded inserts are a Good Thing.

Tonar's finishes are second to none - I'm sure you'll pleased with that outcome.

I don't buy or install stainless frets for their wear qualities - that's just icing on the cake. The real benefit is the feel. They're so super smooth and hard that it's like playing on greasy glass. But, fresh frets of any type are always nice. I'm sure you'll be happy.

Congrats! With my single warmoth guitar, it's easily the best guitar neck I've ever felt/owned other than this L6 deluxe my old bass player had that was stolen from him in college.
