Filter'Tron (TV Jones) wiring pluses and minuses

I'm fussing about the wiring for the dual TV Jones Classic Filter'Trons I'm going to be building. A basic setup would be two knobs in a VV configuration. Then there's the HotRod with a single MV knob, 2 knob VT, Tone Pot 4 knob VVMVT, and the other variations.

Are there any Filter'Tron players here with words of advice regarding these different configurations?
