This my sixth Warmoth build.  Warmoth Surf Green on the left to help with color comparison.  Lollar Creme pickup covers and Warmoth Creme knobs with text sanded off and polished shiny smooth with Stew Mac Micro-Mesh Soft Touch Finishing Pads,  and Warmoth Parchment pickguard.  I might check out Fender Aged White for the pickup covers and knobs as an alternative.

I think what my brothers meant to say was something like, "Welcome aboard!  We're looking forward to seeing your project come together!"

Holy Hank Marvin Batman! I love it.

OH MY GOD!! I'M RED/GREEN COLORBLIND!!! AAAAAHH!!
What's up with artists? My artist son has the same thing. It does not hurt neither his or your art but it
is interesting that you have the gift with a slight twist. I guess that make it ok that I'm a tone deaf guitar player  :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:.

I know that they are quite costly, but the Retrospec bakelite pickup covers are also an option.  They are kinda cool in that they have funky little cracks and imperfections.

Thanks y'all.  I took with pics with my Sony DSC-HX100V and it is close to real life but not exactly.  Anyhow, the neck in process is a padouk/ebony with stainless steel frets and 1 3/4" Earvana nut.  Got the Lollar Dirty Blondes, Planet Wave tuners, and Babicz Full Contact wide spaced bridge ready to go.

By the way, the surf green Tele, Swamp Ash with Lollar Vintage T's,  has a Brazilian rosewood fretboard which unfortunately I don't think are available anymore.  I experimented with a couple other necks on that very Tele and that maple/Brazilian rosewood added slight, but noticeable and desirable punch to the sound.

Nice pair  :icon_thumright:

The one on the right is the surf green one  ....  :laughing7:

HA-HA-HAAA!!! I'm not colorblind after all!!! When I clicked on this page, the Tele popped up front and CENTER, and it never occurred to me that there was more to the pic! So the Tele was all I saw...YAY!! I'm not colorblind, I'm only BRAIN-DEAD!!!!
(Very nice guitars, Jim--didn't mean to derail your thread...)

I am using photobucket as the picture host so they might load slower that expected here.  Will do a video at some point, because the subtlties of the colors are so difficult to replicate with one picture.  I was influenced by Fender Custom Shop Deluxe NOS Fiesta Red and the Fender Micheal Landau Signature 1963 Relic Fiesta Red over 3 Color Sunburst which use Fender Mint pickguards and apparently Fender Aged White pickup covers and knobs.

What I found with all the parts right in front on me, with various lighting and angles, etc. a Warmoth Parchment pickguard with Warmoth Creme pickup covers and knobs is my preference.  The Warmoth Mint Green pickguard with Fender Aged White covers and knobs also looks good.  Other combinations (cool shades) seem to clash just a little with the Warmoth Parchment pickguard (warm shade).

Here is how I would describe the similar colors of the pickup covers represented by the brands.

Lollar Creme - a warm shade (peach pie)
Warmoth Creme - a warm shade (custard pie)
G&L Creme - a cool shade (lemon meringue)
Fender Aged White - a cool shade (pistachio ice cream)

And in case anyone else wants to sand and polish off the "volume" and "tone" text, it works great on the Warmoth, but will not work very well on the Fender knobs.

Getting shades of "creme" to match is almost an exercise in futility. Everybody has their own idea of what it should be, and none of them agree. The best you can hope for is "close enough that I'm not pissed off".

I can't say I've ever seen it on a guitar, so I could be wrong, but I can't imagine you'd ever want any shade of green against any shade of red. Opposite ends of the spectrum, so they'll never match well. Besides, it'd look like a Christmas decoration. Some kind of washed out poinsettia bush or something. Better to continue the hunt for an acceptable creme.

The Fender mint green and Fender Fiesta red on the Micheal Landau Signature 1963 model looks pretty cool.  I do have a Warmoth mint green pickguard for comparison and will post a pic on the upcoming thread in the A Work In Progress.

But it helps a lot to have the components in hand to look at in real life against each other and against the guitar.  Fortunately the plastic parts are so inexpensive.

I got one more project on the way, a Black Korina Tele with a Lollar P90 in the neck and Lollar Imperial in the bridge so this will be my last post in this thread.  Again, I will set up a thread in A Work In Progress as the project...progresses!  :icon_biggrin:  :rock-on:
